Actress Sophia Del Pizzo, who played the mom character in the now-widely-seen “BeetleMax: The Way It Shouldn’t Be” Beetlejuice Beetlejuice/CarMax collaborative ad campaign (an Editor’s Pick in Ad Age), has been regularly engaging with me/commenters about the ad on a TikTok post I made in my ongoing pop culture project over the past 20 days or so. Apparently due to TikTok and Universal coming to terms in recent days, many major-label artists have returned to TikTok’s catalog of music that’s available for user posts. Confirmed returning artists so far include Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, and blink-182.

I’ve been combining several pop culture-related interests into a website/social media amalgam project that’s still in development. A post made to its TikTok on 5/2/24 has amassed approximately 47,000 views, 120 comments, 315 favorites, and 4,500 likes as of this writing. The account has also seen a 25% increase in followers in that same two-day span. Update: as of 5/14/24, the same post is at 51k views, 136 comments, 350 favorites, and 5,025 likes. Update 2: As of 9/19/2024, a separate post crossed the 200k view mark.
A sports-pop culture hybrid account/brand (also still under wraps) combining several of my favorite passions/pastimes is showing growth on TikTok, with recent posts eclipsing three to four thousand views.
